SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS 2015

SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS 2015

Splendour In The Grass 2015 (SITG), you’ve done it again. Created a weekend of unstoppable beats, to-die-for food and unforgettable memories that will be cherished forever. I thought this weekend would never arrive, however, the day finally came where good vibrations echoed through the North Byron Parklands of Byron Bay. Where artists ventured from their homelands, nationally and internationally for Australia’s undeniable best music festival.

This festival is where folks like you and I travel far and wide to attend…

Over the weekend, I got to see some of the most talented artists and musicians of our time. A few of the acts I saw were Harts, George Maple, San Cisco, Years & Years, MØ, Azealia Banks, Royal Blood, with special highlights and mentions of Jarryd James, Mansionair, Tkay Maidza, Tame Impala and Florence + The Machine. Mansionair, Jarryd James’ and Tkay Maidza’s debut albums are sure going to be absolute decade definers from what I heard live, and of course Tame Impala and Flo are always guaranteed, heart pumping, show stomping, voice box breaking shows.

Aside from the incredible tunes pumping throughout the grounds, one of my favourite aspects of the festival is its fashion. Think of it this way, you have thousands of unique attendees with their own flare and personality. At a huge festival like SITG, where everyone loves everyone, it becomes the ultimate play ground for expression of one’s true self.

I had a field day with my closet over the July weekend. The Annex, a local label in Bondi, made Day 1. The squad and I had a Double Denim daze on the second day, with GSTAR which I can thank Lord & Taylor for! Lastly, I kitted myself out in my new obsession of Australian label Lapse for Day 3.

Special note for two things that saved my life this trip. The Deus Customs bag which was big enough to fit absolutely everything in to and still sizeable enough to carry. The second are the Hunter Boots wellingtons, or gum boots if you rather. They are my two hot tips for any future Splendourians – the Deus Rucksack and Hunter’s wellingtons.

Hold up, I feel like I’m coming down with something… I’ve suddenly been hit with a severe case of Post-Splendour blues after editing this video and pictures below to share. To say I’m not already thinking about next year’s festival would be a lie.

See you in 2016, Splendour!
